Music of Faith (Soprano Ensemble)

This was such an incredible program of music. It encompassed Bernstein’s Kaddish Symphony and Rossini’s Stabat Mater. . The soloists were of the highest order and I couldn’t be more excited to have joined the ensemble for music that required such a high level of execution. What was even more exciting was that we got to the opportunity to watch various disciplines learn, study and create all in one place. While I am disappointed with the short run of the production I could not be more pleased with what we accomplished!

PROGRAM

Bernstein - Symphony No. 3 ("Kaddish")

- INTERMISSION -

Rossini - Stabat Mater

“We continue our celebration of Leonard Bernstein's birth centenary with his dramatic, spiritual Symphony No. 3 (“Kaddish”), programmed with Rossini's Stabat Mater. Yannick describes the pairing of these two works as “A program which is very much in the vein of what I think personally about spirituality: the work of a Catholic composer, Rossini's Stabat Mater, and a Jewish composer, Leonard Bernstein, his Third Symphony, ‘Kaddish.'“
